{"id":5619,"date":"2009-04-18T11:23:08","date_gmt":"2009-04-18T11:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bramleybuffs.com\/?p=5619"},"modified":"2020-05-27T11:23:47","modified_gmt":"2020-05-27T11:23:47","slug":"aidy-ready-for-buffaloes-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bramleybuffs.com\/?p=5619","title":{"rendered":"AIDY READY FOR BUFFALOES CHALLENGE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000;\">Armley lad Aidy Manley is hoping to make his mark with the Bramley Buffaloes in 2009 after making the step up from West Leeds ARLFC.<\/p>\n<p>The 20-year-old centre, who has been playing the game since he was 13, is well aware of the tradition attached to the amber and black as the club embarks on its sixth season back.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can just about remember when the club went out of business,\u201d explained Aidy who works as an electrician \u201cand I recall my grandparents talking fondly about the old days at McLaren Field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was a real community club that was held in close affection and the Buffaloes are carrying that on with a professional approach both on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was recommended to go down to the Buffaloes and all of the squad have made me very welcome for what has been a gruelling pre-season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a different standard of rugby altogether but I\u2019m confident that I can step up to the mark. You only get out what you put in!\u201d added Aidy who counts his best moment in the game as a match against the Royal Dragoon Guards whilst on tour in Germany with West Leeds.<\/p>\n<p>Buffaloes new coach Mark Butterill has high hopes for his young back: \u201cAidy has got the ability and the drive and he\u2019s sure to excite our fans with his pace and power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s shown a great deal of commitment in training and has fitted in very well and I\u2019m looking forward to seeing him cross the whitewash for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s scored a lot of tries with West Leeds and he\u2019ll be carrying that on with the Buffaloes,\u201d added Butterill who is busy preparing his side for a tilt at a fifth consecutive league title and Grand Final appearance.<\/p>\n<p>Aidy continued: \u201cWe\u2019re all so keen to avenge last October\u2019s defeat to Celtic Colts and make it another successful season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Buffaloes first home match against Nottingham Outlaws on Sunday 19th April at Stanningley\u2019s Arthur Miller Stadium is free entry for all thanks to an innovative sponsorship deal with the Co-operative.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Armley lad Aidy Manley is hoping to make his mark with the Bramley Buffaloes in 2009 after making the step up from West Leeds ARLFC.
