Peter Lister - Bramley Buffaloes

It is with deep sadness that we have to announce the passing of Bramley Rugby League Legend Peter Lister.

Having signed from Leeds to obtain regular first team rugby, Peter made his debut at Hunslet on the 20thSeptember 1981.  He quickly became a firm favourite with the Bramley faithful, not only for his try-scoring feats and match turning performances, but also as a genuine and friendly human being who was always up for a chat and a laugh with fans, team-mates and opponents alike.  His try-scoring feats for Bramley in the professional game will never be surpassed ,which included scoring 34 tries in the 1985-86 season and finishing his career with an astonishing 140 tries in 228 appearances between 1981 and 1991. Legend is one of the most over-rated words used these days but Peter Lister can be called a legend and no-one who saw his magical skills whilst at Bramley would disagree.  RIP Peter.

Our sincere condolences go to his family and friends.
