BRAMLEY BUFFALOES 34 NOTTINGHAM OUTLAWS 40 – Arthur Miller Stadium, Sunday

A hat trick from Outlaws centre Chris Money and a late score Jimmy Goodwin score ensured that Bramley’s first outing of 2012 ended in defeat and brought Nottingham’s first away win in three seasons.

Nottingham opened well, scoring on two minutes through Paul Calland and the visitors were in again with Money racing over, James Simpson again converting. Buffaloes were in for their first points of the year with a try from Anthony Lindsay, converted by Graham Harrison but Money claimed a second before a Bramley fight back.

Nick Fontaine had not long been on the field when he dived in at the corner for the first of two scores in 11 minutes, the second seeing him beat three men in a mazy run. James Smith was the next scorer for the Buffaloes with a try on 37 minutes, converted by Harrison, and just on the whistle Simon Lindsay crossed to give his side a ten point lead at the break.

Three minutes in to the second half, Bramleys Corey Challenger weaved across but then Nottingham started their comeback.  On 47 minutes hooker Dan Smith nipped in and two minutes later Money completed his hat trick, again converted by Simpson, bringing the scores level. On the hour mark man of the match Will Reeve crossed for a try following some poor Bramley defence and the Outlaws were in front. With nine minutes to go James Woods crossed for a Buffaloes try, converted by Simon Lindsay, levelling the scores again at 34 all.

A penalty for a high tackle in front of the posts allowed Simpson to slot over a goal pushing Nottingham in front again, and with three minutes to go Goodwin finished the scoring with an unconverted try to complete a dramatic win.
