Buffaloes Repel the Raiders

On a cold but bright August evening the Buffaloes played their seventh game in less than a month, Coach Gill again rotated his squad, bringing back Terry Brown, Ayden Webster, Rikk Sumner and Gaz Hudson; Andrew Hepworth made his first start since the Skirlaugh game at the beginning of the season.

The game started badly for the Buffaloes as Oulton opened the scoring with a try in the 6th minute to winger George Moore with Scrum Half Josh Murray adding the conversion which gave Oulton the lead 0-6.

In the 13th minute the Buffaloes thought they were in following a Darrell Forster Break, but winger Ayden Webster was unable to take in the pass

However in the 15th Minute the Buffaloes crashed over the line when Centre Alex Brier crashed over the line after latching on to a Ben Dean pass for an unconverted try, narrowing Oultons lead to 4-6.

Oulton were in again in the 29th minute when Murray raced through some poor defence to set loose forward Adam Lunn up for a try, with Murray adding the extras, stretching the lead to 4-12.

Forster broke down the Oulton defence in the 35th Minute with a solo try and cooly added the conversion to make the score 10-12.

7 minutes after the half time break winger Liam Copland raced away from the despairing defence to score a try out on the left touchline, with Forster adding the extra two points, to give the Buffaloes the lead 16-12.

In the 50th Minute, Brier was in again, following a break by Webster, who passed on the inside to the supporting Dean, who in turn passed to the strong running Brier. Forster added the conversion to extend the Buffaloes lead to 22-12.

In the 59th minute Copland was in again for his second of the evening, with a typical jinxing run that bamboozled the defence, with Forster unable to add the conversion, making the score 26-12.

Sam Nicholls completed the scoring in the 66th minute with a barnstorming run that Oulton were unable to deal with, Forster again added the conversion to make the final score 32-12.
