Buffaloes Move into Fourth Spot

The Buffaloes came in to this game on the back of three straight victories and were looking for their fourth.  Coach Steve Gill was confident with that the squad would do the job, but had the tough choice of who to leave out.

The weather was overcast but the forecast rain never appeared however there was a stiff breeze which played havoc with the kickers.

The Buffaloes had the first chance of the game in the 4th minute when loose forward Jonny Bradley was held up short of the line.

In the 11th Minute Steve Suddards put through a nicely weighted kick which bounced perfectly into the hands of winger Jerome Malcolm for the first of his two tries.  Suddards converted the try giving the Buffaloes the lead 6-0.

Until 2 minutes from half time both sides were going from end to end trying to break down each other defences, but both stood resolute until Skirlaugh’s Man of the Match Brandon Graham broke through for their opening score making the score 6-4.

2 minutes after the break, Suddards was at the heart of the action again when he intercepted a loose pass and raced away feeding Malcolm who went over for his second of the afternoon making the score 10-4.

In the 46th minute Phil Egan broke the Bulls defence and raced over for the third Buffaloes try of the afternoon again converted by Suddards giving the buffaloes a 16-4 lead.

Ten minutes later Buffaloes Man of the match Alex Brier stormed through the defence for a try under the posts again converted by Suddards making the score 22-4.

In the 64th minute Brier was in the action again making a break and giving the ball to Andrew Hepworth, Graham Harrison converted the try making the score 28-4 to the Buffaloes.

In the 73rd minute Skirlaugh capitalised on a mistake and Graham went over for his second try of the afternoon, skillfully converted by Robert Brown making the score 28-10.
