Buffaloes Put Knights to the Sword
In an Early kick off, as part of Kippax’s Gala day the Buffaloes ground out their fifth straight win of the season. The game was a hard fought scrappy affair littered with penalties, handling mistakes and some stern defence from both sides.
The win moves Bramley in to the third place in the table, a point behind Skirlaugh and York Acorn.
The Buffaloes opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a last tackle play which saw Second Rower Jerome Malcolm stormed through the defence for a try, converted by Daz Forster, making the score 0-6.
Two minutes later Centre Alex Brier went over for his first try of the afternoon, giving the Buffaloes a 10-point lead.
In the 25th minute, Bramley’s Hooker Craig Boot was dispatched to the sin bin for alleged threaten behaviour.
In the 32nd minute a break by Buffaloes man of the match, Daz Forster, sent winger Andrew Staniland across for the away sides third try of the afternoon, Forster converted the try to make the lead 0-16.
On the stroke of half time, Kippax opened their account with centre Lee Brookes, taking advantage of some back to back sets, scoring under the posts, Ricky Fisher converted to make the half time score 6-16.
In the 49th minute following a crisp short pass from Ben Dean, the Kippax defence opened up and Brier went through the hole to score his second of the afternoon, converted by Forster, extending the lead to 6-22.
Six minutes later following a flowing passing move, Man of the Match Forster burst through the defence for an unconverted try, making the score 6-26.
On 58 minutes a scoot from dummy half saw Craig Boot out sprint the defenders to score an unconverted try, extending the lead to 6-30.
In the 61st minute Kippax skipper, Chris Redfearn was sinbinned, followed two minutes later by Bramley Captain Dave Parker.
On 74 minutes, Briers strode over for his third of the afternoon, again unconverted making the score 6-34.
The final score of the afternoon came 4 minutes from the end, when Kippax hooker, Craig Oliver burrowed through some legs to score next to the posts with Fisher converting, making the final score 12-34.
