Parliamentary Rugby League Group welcomes Bramley Buffaloes
The Parliamentary Rugby League Group has announced Bramley Buffaloes as a new Associate Member of the Group.
The Buffaloes become the second community club to join the Group, alongside Brentwood Eels. Other clubs include League One’s Oxford RL, Championship’s Batley Bulldogs and five Super League Clubs.
As well as clubs, the Parliamentary Group welcomes other organisations and individuals as Associate Members. All agree to the Group’s constitution and its sole remit to “support the game of rugby league football”. Associate Members are welcome to take part in the Group’s monthly meetings in the palace of Westminster and attend the Group’s Annual Dinner in the House of Lords.
The announcement was made by the Group’s Chairman, Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland. He said “Bramley Buffaloes are a welcome addition to the Parliamentary Rugby League Group’s growing Associate Membership. They join a club in my own constituency – Leeds Rhinos – and I am very pleased that Leeds now leads the way in terms of engagement with the Group. I am very much looking forward to meeting them at meetings in the future.”
Bramley Buffaloes’ Chairman Martyn Cheney added his thoughts. “On behalf of Bramley Buffaloes, I am delighted we have joined the Parliamentary Rugby League Group. For 25 years the Group has been an important voice for the sport and for a club with aspirations like Bramley Buffaloes, we want to help do our part.”
