Bramley Buffaloes Rugby League Community Club has regretfully been forced to postpone its first fixture of the 2012 National Conference season at Stanningley on Friday evening against Warrington Wizards due to a number of mitigating factors.
Club Chair Martyn Cheney explained: “We’ve had issues over the close season with player availability and these unfortunately have coincided with the early season fixture schedule however we have put reliable channels in place, through new coach Craig Lingard, that will ensure we won’t be in this position again.
“Craig has only been in place for a month but he’s worked solidly behind the scenes on recruitment and we are confident that this is just a minor glitch.
“Persistent rain over the past few days has also contributed to the postponement with the pitch at Stanningley’s Arthur Miller Stadium heavily waterlogged and this has also forced our hand.
“I can only apologise to our loyal army of supporters and reassure them that the Buffaloes will be up and running for next Sunday’s (29th April) intriguing derby clash with Kippax Knights at Stanningley (2.30pm kick-off),” added Martyn.
A new date for the home fixture against Warrington Wizards will be announced shortly.
