Rangers completed a nine-day double over the Buffaloes. Adam Ryder’s second try, on the hour, proving to be the turning point in an entertaining contest.
There was also much to admire in the frequency and ferocity of the defence, Dave Valentine leading the way with 66 tackles for the visitors.
Rangers opened the scoring when impressive loose forward Nick Briggs ripped through to score, Neil Barrett converting.
Underbank were in again on the 25 minute mark when Jordan Williams burst over, Barrett doubling the lead.
Seven minutes later following sustained pressure, Brmaley’s best Andrew Staniland got his side back in contention, recovering a fumbled high kick to cross, Simon Lindsey adding the extras.
Just before before the break Underbank were in again when Will Midgely swept through some poor defence to score an unconverted try but Bramley still had time to respond, Graham Nash, burrowing under the defenders to score a try next to the posts.
Lindsey goaled to make it 16-12 to the visitors at the turnaround.
Rangers took a stranglehold a minute into the second half when Ryder slipped clear for his first of the evening, Barrett again successful and it was close on 20 minutes before the next score, Ryder again in prime position to capitalise.
Late on, Courtney Allette was sin binned for dissent and Sam Dalby joined him for foul play but, despite being two men down, Rangers grabbed the final points when Midgely crossed for his brace, Barrett landing in his fifth conversion.
