For supporters of a particular vintage, seeing the boys in Black and Amber playing under floodlights will stir memories of 1973 and the club’s BBC Floodlit Trophy triumph. Despite winning the “Floodlit” trophy, the actual semi-final against St Helens and the Final at Widnes were played in the afternoon due to government power restrictions on the use of floodlights!
After a stirring 34-18 victory at New Earlswick All Blacks last time out, the Buffaloes will be fired up and confident of gaining revenge following their close away defeat earlier in the season.
